How the Virtual Race Works
All registered runners will automatically be enrolled in our 2020 Hospital Hill Virtual Run, so no action is required by you. If you haven't registered yet and want to take part, you can register here! Then, come back to this page and follow the steps below.
You can run or walk your distance on roads, tracks, treadmills, anywhere! We don't require any specific route, so be safe and have fun with it. You just need to complete your run by June 6, 2021. View our safe running practices below.
After you’ve completed your run, submit your virtual results here so you can see how you stack up against other participants running your same distance. You can use any app to track your miles (garmin, mapmyrun, strava etc.)
We want you to share your virtual experience by sharing your run photos, videos and screenshots onto our virtual run Facebook Page. Use the hashtag #HHRVirtual2021. You're not in this alone, so join the movement and encourage your fellow Hospital Hill virtual runners!
Once you submit your results and photos to our Virtual Run Facebook Group, we will send you a digital finisher certificate to your email. Items will be shipped after the conclusion of the in-person event on June 5, 2021. There will also be a $8.00 shipping charge for all virtual participants.

We will select at random one person who completes each challenge and that winner will receive one Pair of Saucony Running Shoes ($130 value) + two pairs of Feetures Socks ($32). Saucony is the Official Running Shoe and Feetures is the Official Running Sock of the Hospital Hill Run.
We are calling all Elementary, Middle School, and High School students to run the Virtual Hospital Hill Run 5K, 10K, or Half Marathon between now and July 1st! Bragging rights will go to the winners of each event! So parents, teachers, and coaches help us provide a fun opportunity! On your marks, get set, go! Each participant receives a cool Hospital Hill Medal and Bib! Kids must be registered by someone 18 years or older to participate.
Given our current climate, we ask that you follow some simple guidelines to protect yourself and those around you while you run virtually.
Check-in with yourself before you go. Are you feeling healthy, breathing normal, and in shape to run? Check-in with yourself before you go out on your run and make sure you’re feeling up to the task. You can always rest and come back to run once you feel better. Don’t push it if you’re not ready.
Proper Hydration. Plan to make sure you have ample hydration and nutrition for the entire duration of your run.
Run Alone, or limit yourself to one healthy running buddy. Running alone will reduce your exposure to other people and in turn, will reduce your chances of contracting an illness.
Identification. Bring your identification or road id in case of an emergency.
Listen. Wear one earbud out so you can use your hearing to help you avoid collisions or accidents.
Wear Bright Clothing. Wear bright clothing so pedestrians and vehicle traffic can identify you.
Be Aware. The roads are not closed for your virtual run, so be aware of your surroundings. Obey traffic laws and always look both ways before you cross streets and crosswalks.
